Gerwyn Price will face Michael van Gerwen this evening in the final of the World Matchplay after an incredible display to down Danny Noppert 17-11.
"Over the moon, relieved as well because I knew I was playing well early on in the mid part of the game and slipped up a little bit so I wanted to get over the winning line but I didn't want to fall over," said Price post match.
"The last three games step by step I'm getting better so I'm happy to be improving round by round. I think I played a little bit better against De Sousa even though I had the nine-darter. I felt more comfortable yesterday than I did today, it was a bigger gap as well but it's just funny how games go. Hopefully I can improve on this game and play a little bit better."
"There's a lot more in the tank but it's whether it comes out at the right times. Danny done it today, the last three games everyone's just pulling out good scores or good shots to stay in the game and that's what I need to do tomorrow. I need to find my A game."
During the tie, he hit an roof raising nine-dart finish and he discussed that and how he was slightly pessimistic after it due to players going on to lose often after hitting them.
"They're good to hit and it gets the crowd going, it's good for your confidence but sometimes I overthink and think usually when people hit nine darters they go and lose. In that game in that one patch I felt like I was unbeatable."
