Michael van Gerwen is back in business in this year's Premier League producing a blistering 110 average for a 8-3 victory over early pace setter
Dimitri van den Bergh.
Van Gerwen had a poor Super Series but on his return to the stage, he has proven that he has his top game still in his locker defying a 106 average to win through also with four 180's and 80% on the doubles.
Van Gerwen produced a brilliant start to proceedings with a 126 checkout on the bull to kickstart the tie.
A 174 and double seven for a 13-darter saw him double his lead and his superiority was extended with a 123 checkout on the bull.
Another break saw him roar into a 5-0 lead with a 91 checkout for an 11-darter with a 117 average. He consolidated that with a hold of throw for a 6-0 advantage and looked to be heading for a whitewash.
Van den Bergh finally got on the board though and broke throw from there with an 82 checkout for a 12-darter to peg back at 6-2 behind.
It was three in a row as he consolidated that break but with the Belgian up against it, Van Gerwen got back on track with a 96 checkout to get at least a point and he didn't give Van den Bergh another shot from there as he pinned double 14 for victory.
