Michael van Gerwen is closer to his first title of the season after easing past Madars Razma into the semi-finals of the Nordic Darts Masters in Copenhagen.
Van Gerwen who has not won a title this calendar year averaged 101.6 with four 180's and 62.5% on the doubles as he just had too much for the Latvian ace who saw off Nathan Aspinall on Friday.
Now it will be an intriguing tie against Jonny Clayton who has been a player who has been a thorn in the side of Mighty Mike in recent times and could stand in his way once more of meeting Fallon Sherrock or Dimitri van den Bergh in the final.
Razma took the opening leg with an 88 checkout but that was the brightest spark of the opening exchanges as MVG produced three legs on the spin with a break and a hold to make it 3-1.
At the interval, he sat 4-1 up and was easing through the legs with a 98 average and 4/6 on the doubles. This dominance continued when they returned as a brilliant 132 checkout saw him go 5-1 up.
Razma stopped the rot but it was a mere hold as Van Gerwen continued to run riot breaking through again for a 7-2 advantage as he went three away.
A lifeline of sorts was set for the Latvian who sat at the break 7-3 down after breaking back and he clawed it back to 7-4 but just as it looked like he was finding his way back into the tie, Van Gerwen surged to victory with a 102 checkout finishing it off for the World Number Three.
