Van Gerwen survives match darts to sneak past Aspinall, Suljovic produces phenomenal whitewash win against Cross

The semi-finals are officially confirmed at the European Darts Grand Prix with Michael van Gerwen set to take on Mensur Suljovic in the second one in Sindelfingen.

Van Gerwen survived once more against Nathan Aspinall with 'The Asp' missing three darts at double to knock out the World Number One after Mighty Mike fluffed his lines on double nine.

He made no mistake second time around and pinned it to win through with a 99.6 average. This came after he edged past best friend, Vincent van der Voort earlier who missed a match dart.

For Suljovic, it was a much simpler tie as he smashed through Rob Cross in a phenomenal 6-0 whitewash. He averaged 97 with 'Voltage' not finding his spark only averaging 81.3.

He didn't have any darts at doubles throughout the tie with Suljovic hitting 6/17 with two 180's and a high checkout of 81.
