There aren't many lists in darts that Michael van Gerwen isn't top of.

The Dutchman has dominated the PDC scene in recent years, helped by his prodigious scoring power. His heavy-hitting approach is well reflected in the latest table put out by stats ace Christopher Kempf. Van Gerwen comes out on top when it comes to the three-dart average.
Kempf, better known as Ochepedia, measured the overall average from December 14 to the present moment. He included every player who has competed in 100 or more legs in ranking PDC events. Van Gerwen has played more legs than anyone in that time - 523 - but has the best average. His 102.199 is the only ton-plus average achieved across two and a half months.
Rob Cross has played just one leg fewer, and sits in second. He has an overall average of 99.987, narrowly short of a ton. Premier League leader Michael Smith is in third. Narrowly behind him is Pro Tour newcomer Corey Cadby. Across 296 legs, the world number 70 has an average of 97.680. The Australian's tally is better than that of Peter Wright (97.531), Gary Anderson (96.822) and Daryl Gurney (96.757).
Despite his excellent start to 2018, Simon Whitlock sits 39th in the list with a 93.134 average.
