Van Peer returns to Pro Tour circuit with two-year PDC Tour Card

Berry van Peer will return to the PDC Pro Tour circuit in at least 2021 and 2022. Bionic secured a PDC Tour Card through the Development Tour.

The 24-year-old Dutchman was in a fierce battle with fellow countryman Damian Mol for the third place on the PDC Development Tour Order of Merit. Normally the top two in the rankings will receive a Tour Card, but number one Ryan Meikle already has one for next season.

The last six Development Tour tournaments of the season were played from Friday to Sunday. Mol won the tournament on Friday evening and also reached two semi-finals. Van Peer, who had a lead over his fellow Dutchman prior to this weekend, reached three semi-finals before the final event.

The battle was decided in the last event. Mol lost 4-2 to Owen Roelofs in the last sixteen, while he should have achieved a better result than Van Peer. That did not happen, because the latter reached the semi-finals.

Van Peer previously owned a Tour Card in 2016 and 2017. Because he reached the final of the PDC World Youth Championship in 2016, the Dutchman was allowed to participate in the Grand Slam of Darts in 2017. Van Peer became famous during that tournament due to his visible struggle with dartitis, which prevented him from properly throwing his darts away.
