VIDEO: Edgar discusses guaranteed money for Tour Card Holders like snooker - "We are getting to that point where we need reassurances"

Matthew Edgar has released a new episode on his YouTube channel, Edgar TV. In this he discusses guaranteed prize money for Tour Card holders.

In snooker, players have been given £20,000 a year with the cost of living crisis in the UK being a factor and Edgar believes that point has to be reached in darts.

"When you get that PDC Tour Card, it actually restricts you from being able to play in events around the world. You can play those PDC events, you can play other events as long as it's not streamed and there's not more than four Tour Card holders including yourself. It makes it a bit harder to get out there and earn money through those routes.

"With the cost of living crisis and bills going up, we are getting to that point where we need reassurances."

Previously snooker has started what darts has also implemented so Edgar believes it will happen.

"Do I think this will come into darts? Yes. But I don't think this will come in before this year's Q-School. I think this will be something that is going to get announced middle of next year to come in at 2024. Snooker has been a good indication in the past to what we see in darts, it seems to follow the same patterns. It's a good sign."
