Edgar confirms Challenge Tour participation, won't play all events due to injury: "It's physically too much for me to handle"

Matthew Edgar has been lending his commentary talents to the MODUS Super Series in recent times instead of playing but that is for a reason.

Edgar confirmed his Challenge Tour participation on Twitter for this upcoming weekend but will not play in all the events due to rehab from ongoing injury.

"I have a ruptured tendon in the wrist and arthritis in the elbow, currently getting weekly treatment for both," he told DartsNews.

"I won’t be playing in all 5 events as it’s physically too much for me to handle in such a short period at present," he wrote in his Twitter post.

This also comes after he said in a recent interview that he will not play Q-School barring changes due to the disadvantage and lack of financial incentive for those outside the top 64 who unlike snooker who have recently made changes do not earn when they are not playing.
