Adrian Lewis decided to stop the brakes on his darting comeback earlier this year after
DartsNews confirmed that he was booked for
exhibitions when there would be tour events and he later confirmed that he wasn't going to Q-School.
But could Lewis now have a catalyst to even try and come back. He said
recently that he would only return to try and win a third World title and he seems to still have some semblance of his game after he produced a brilliant roof raising nine-dart finish last night at the
MDA exhibition in Stevenage.
He went on to complete a 6-2 win over Stephen Bunting in the headliner at the Gordon Craig Theatre which sent the crowd in raptures. It has been a nine-dart week as Nathan Aspinall also produced in Bolton facing off against his good friend Chris Dobey.
Lewis in superb form
Lewis was in great form throughout the night, seeing off Nathan Aspinall 3-1 in the opening match in Stevenage. Damon Heta was also in attendance with his signature fire headpiece, and he saw off Fallon Sherrock, coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2. Sherrock then lost to Adrian Lewis in her second match of the night. The Queen of the Palace is in action today at the
Women's Series, so perfect practice against some of the best.
In between, Bunting came out on top in a battle of former BDO World Champions seeing off Raymond van Barneveld 3-0. Damon Heta then saw off Nathan Aspinall in the next match before the golden match as Lewis saw off Bunting.
It is another free weekend for players to play exhibitions with ProTour action on Monday followed by Riesa next weekend as the International Darts Open takes place but one thing is for certain, Adrian Lewis has still got it.
