Luke Humphries won his group game with Michael Smith at the Grand Slam of Darts and he did it in some style as he took out a nine-dart finish to do it.
Humphries went 177, 180, 144 on double 12 to seal the win. It is the first one at the Grand Slam of Darts since Ryan Searle back in 2023 and is the first that Humphries has hit on stage and actually won the game.
In a battle of former World Champions and Grand Slam champions, Smith led for parts of it but cannot have any complaints when Humphries produces spellbinding darts like that. He will go through to the latter stages with his win also over Alex Spellman yesterday.
What a way to do it for 'Cool Hand Luke'. Special darts from the World No.1.
