In the run-up to the resumption of this year's Premier League Darts on April 19, DartsNews takes a look back on how each player has started the tournament. This time the attention turns to Rob Cross.
The former World Champion came into this year's tournament in no form but talking up his chances and so far, he has shown some signs to believe that he could be returning to close to his best.
On the opening night, Cross took the last two legs including taking out the bull for a draw against Jose de Sousa. He followed that up by easing past James Wade 7-3 with a 94 average to get his first win on the board.
From there, he was thumped by Michael van Gerwen who set down a marker with a 107.58 average but dusted himself off to ease past current league leader, Jonny Clayton 7-3. A defeat to Peter Wright ended the last block.
Similar to Nathan Aspinall, Cross was among the main contenders to go down but has been proving the doubters wrong so far albeit while not being out of the race for the drop zone yet.
But for 'Voltage', a play-off surge isn't out of the question yet.
