Fallon Sherrock is into the Last 16 of the 2021 Grand Slam of Darts after producing when it mattered most against Gabriel Clemens in a remarkable comeback capped off in style.
Sherrock knew pre match that she needed to win by two legs and despite going 3-1 down, she pounced on Clemens seeing the finishing line with a 141 and 170 en-route to a remarkable 5-3 win.
She will now face Mensur Suljovic in the latter stages on debut who she famously beat at the Alexandra Palace two years ago.
Sherrock busted in the opening leg and missed two darts from there to hold and Clemens pounced on the costly error for the lead.
It was a brilliant response from Sherrock who hit a 180 and was on 81 after nine only for Clemens to leave 72 in case the Milton Keynes ace couldn't hit it.
He was back though with Clemens missing a dart to hold and Sherrock was back for `1-1 and an immediate break back.
Another leg another break as Clemens went 2-1 up and edged closer to the four legs he needed. Sherrock missed bull for a 122 and Clemens went one away at 3-1 up.
A second maximum and 44 checkout for Sherrock saw her keep her slim hopes alive at 3-2 down. A 141 checkout saw her extend those hopes in sensational fashion at 3-3.
She was first to a finish at 120 with Clemens feeling the heat and as she got six darts at it pinning double 20 to go one away.
Clemens sat on 164 with Sherrock on 170 and the German left 68 for the win - he couldn't produce but the Queen of the Palace could smashing in the showstopper for the win.
