After the second day of play at the UK Q-School, Kevin Thomas is still at the top of the UK Q-School Order of Merit. The Welshman is already on seven points, incidentally as many as Thomas Lovely and teenage sensation Thomas Banks.
American World Darts Championship star, Alex Spellman is on six points. Thomas Cromwell, Daniel Astbury and Liam Goyne also stand on six points, while Mark Dudbridge, Jim McEwan and Keelan Kay, among others, follow on five points.

Normally, at least four points will be enough to secure qualification for the final stage. Among others, Brett Claydon and Kai Fan Leung are on four points. Nathan Girvan, Adrian Gray, Peter Hudson, Richard North, Colin Osborne and Alan Norris have accumulated three points and need one more to be sure of the final stage. Familiar names such as Leighton Bennett (2), Wayne Jones (2), Kevin Painter (2), James Richardson (1), William Borland (1) and Mark McGeeney (1) will have to work on Wednesday during the final day of the first stage to keep their Tour Card hopes alive.
Qualification for the finals is possible by reaching the last eight on one of the three playing days (Jan. 8-10). Should that fail, players must ensure that as many games as possible are won to build up as much points as they can in the Order of Merit.
Each win in a full round (without byes) earns one point. Through the UK Q-School Order of Merit of the first stage, 77 players advance to the final stage. Only during the final stage will the available PDC Tour Cards actually be distributed.

- I completely agree with Vincent's comments on "whistlegate". It's great to have someone with Vincent's exprience address this issue, so hopefully clearer and stricter guidlelines can be given to referees, security and members of the crowd. No whistling during throws, and something like: whistlers evicted and fined a hefty sum.
