James Wade claimed a routine straight sets victory over Ritchie Edhouse which included 64 percent on doubles in what was a typical performance from the Aldershot ace.
Wade is a three time World Championship semi-finalist and with many seeds falling over the opening few days, the doubts might have been there but he eased through without too much trouble against the Enfield ace.
To begin the tie, Wade took the first leg against Edhouse hitting a 76 checkout but Edhouse was up to the task holding his throw with an 81 checkout.
Despite that Wade took the set hitting double 20 for a 14-darter in the deciding leg hitting a 97.6 average and in typical Machine fashion, 75 percent on the doubles.
Edhouse fluffed his lines when trying to hold throw and Wade went one away from a second set as a result with him having the throw to do so.
He secured that 3-1 as he looked to be heading towards the third round seemingly with ease. Edhouse broke throw in the next set but Wade replied with a 56 checkout to do the same and put the match back on track.
Wade and Edhouse went to a last leg decider but he did some typical Wading and hit a 76 checkout to claim victory and move through to the third round.
