Wade discusses potential behind closed doors conclusion to PDC World Darts Championship: "I couldn't really care too much"

James Wade took care of Dutch ace, Maik Kuivenhoven in his first test of this year's PDC World Darts Championship and as usual, 'The Machine' wasn't pleased with his display admitting his opponent played better throughout.

"I didn't play well enough and gave him more opportunities than perhaps I should have done. I felt like he was a better player on the stage than I was," said Wade post match.

He also disagreed on the notion of crowds returning and said that they were lucky to play last year and touted potential restrictions returning again.

"I think we was all really lucky last year to play and I'm not being funny after Boxing Day this year, there's going to be a lockdown and we're all going to have to adjust to it and I'm sure the PDC will fortunately it's run by some intelligent people."

"I couldn't really care too much. I've got a beautiful son at home, an average wife," he laughed. "I'm happy to stay at home, it's all the people that aren't happy at home that come away to the darts."
