Vincent van der Voort has surged through to the third round of the 2021/22 PDC
World Darts Championship after seeing off Adam Hunt in a straight sets triumph.
Van der Voort averaged 89, hit three 180's with a high checkout of 106 despite only 27% on the doubles.
Hunt went 2-1 up with a break but Van der Voort levelled up going double one and double 19 after the first latter target missed and he was throwing for the set. He sealed it on double 10 from there.
There was three maximums in a leg but it was Hunt who pinned 96 on double 14. Hunt missed 82 on double 16 but returned for double eight. Before Van der Voort took a leg back on double 10.
Double eight was pinned by Van der Voort to send the set to a decider. Hunt and Van der Voort exchanged spurning chances for the set and the Dutchman hit double five to go 2-0 up in sets.
Van der Voort missed a 115 for the opening leg as well as three at 36. But Hunt missed the big number and Van der Voort returned for double 18. A 106 checkout with Hunt sitting ready to hold saw ‘The Dutch Destroyer’ go one away. A 92 checkout saw Van der Voort claim it.
