Wade gutted to not be in Premier League and expects Van Barneveld to take last spot

James Wade cruised past Chris Dobey on Saturday afternoon winning 10-4 in the Last 16 to claim a place in the Quarter Finals at the Masters.

With the final Premier League place still looming and set to be announced after the weekend in Milton Keynes, Wade stated he thought he should have been among the nine players already selected.

“I have lost in two finals, I have lost in a semi final and in my opinion I had done enough to go through and qualify but obviously not as I'm not one of the choice picks and I'm gutted not to be in it.” The left-hander also shared his thoughts on who he thinks will get the last selection. “I have a sneaky suspicion that Raymond Van Barneveld will be in it. I think Sky and Barry Hearn (PDC chairman) will want him to be in it and that’s my honest opinion'', he told Online Darts.

Wade has also admitted in the past that it is difficult to play in the Premier League with his young son Arthur at home with his wife, whilst he is away playing darts. ''It's never going to be any different from what I said, it's the hardest decision in the world but financially it's a decision I have to make. I want to be in it and I would love to be involved in it because I'm playing with the best darts players in the world.”
