James Wade before concluding his World Series of his trip completed his usual column for the Daily Star and spoke as part of it about
Gerwyn Price and refuted his status as a bad boy of darts or a villain.
He said that people think that he dislikes Price as well but that is completely the opposite to his real opinion.
"I must defend Gezzy as a lot of people tend to get on his back and he is a bit of a pantomime villain for the fans. Whenever I play him, people assume I dislike him – which couldn’t be further from the truth," he said to the
Daily Star.
"Gerwyn is a lovely guy with a nice family, a good sense of humour and a really nice way about him – what people see is his stage persona but believe me he is without doubt one of the nicest people in darts and a pleasure to spend time with."
Also Wade gave his opinions on Price's trademark roars and whether it gets under his skin on the oche.
"He produced a couple of the trademark ‘roars’ on Saturday against me but I take that with a pinch of salt, it is his way of keeping himself focused on the game and it really shouldn’t affect anyone else."
