Wade sees off White in dominant win to reach Grand Slam Quarter-Finals

James Wade is the next player through to the Grand Slam of Darts Quarter-Finals after seeing off Ian White in a dominant victory.

Wade reeled off five consecutive legs to close out a 10-4 victory with a 98 average with a typical dominant display from 'The Machine' who has emerged as one of the favourites for the title.

White started the better of the two average wise with 102 to Wade's 93 but the latter took a 3-2 lead into the break. There was still no break of throw after the interval with White levelling up before Wade hit his signature double 10 to go 4-3 up.

Three missed darts at doubles came from White though and this first break was forthcoming as he moved two clear for the first time at 5-3 up.

White hit back immediately with an 85 checkout on the bull but Wade was there to begin his five leg streak as he went into the break 6-4 up.

Another break saw the lead up at 8-4 with an 84 checkout seeing an 11-darter pinned. He went one away from there punishing White's misses to make it 9-4. A 68 checkout with White not able to hit a 140 checkout saw him complete the feat.
