Wales are successfully through to the semi-finals of the
World Cup of Darts after defeating Australia in the third straight pairs decider.
To start off with
Gerwyn Price survived a real scare against Simon Whitlock surviving five match darts to claim a 4-3 win and the first point for Wales. This came after 'The Wizard' went 3-2 up with back-to-back 180's en route to an 11-darter.
Price though returned with a 96 checkout to force a decider where he survived and sent it to
Jonny Clayton to claim the victory for Wales.
But Damon Heta produced another great display to win 4-2 against 'The Ferret' with an 102.2 average and four 180's to force a doubles decider.
This came after Clayton moved 2-1 up on Heta but 'The Heat' came back to square it up at 2-2 before Clayton missed double 16 for a 104 checkout and Heta step into break and lead 3-2 before finishing the job.
Price and Clayton though claimed it in the pairs decider with a strong 4-2 victory in which they averaged 98.8 with 40% on the doubles with two 180's as the favourites remain in proceedings going into the semi-finals.
