Jermaine Wattimena edged past Gabriel Clemens in a 6-4 win on the opening night at the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam.
Wattimena spoke after delighting his home crowd; he said that he cannot wait to play Raymond van Barneveld in his final competitive action in Holland.
He added that he really wanted to beat Clemens and claim victory; so was really pleased to smash in the 111 finish to end it all off.
“It will be a pleasure to play Raymond tomorrow, the atmosphere should be incredible,” said Wattimena.
“I really wanted to win today so I was very happy when I hit the double for the 111 finish.”
