Mark Webster spoke to Sportnieuws.nl during this past week of
Premier League Darts action in Dublin.
Webster discussed the new format of the Premier League Darts and whether it has worked in his opinion.
"It's been good particularly for the guys who have got a ticket in the arena. They're seeing a tournament every week, it's looking like the top four players are going to be in the play-offs. There's only sort of Joe Cullen, Gerwyn Price who can throw a spanner in the works," he said to SportNieuws.NL
"I think the players have been great and that's Gary Anderson included as well. He's not had his best campaign but he's had his moments of brilliance. They've all contributed to I think what's been a refreshing change to the Premier League format."
He also spoke about the schedule leaving the big names playing constantly but for Webster, he believes that's the price for being successful.
"That comes with being successful. If you want to be successful, you've got to manage your schedule. They'd rather be playing Thursday, then the weekend because they know they're in the mix for everything. The players are used to it."
Alluding to Gary Anderson prior, Webster believes it could possibly be the end of the Flying Scotsman in the darting roadshow but that he wouldn't put it past him to get back into contention.
"He's had a good run, he's a two-time champion. You wouldn't put it past him getting a title and getting himself back in the Premier League but if you were picking it in a few weeks, you'd leave Gary out. But there's time to put himself back in the mix and I wouldn't rule out Gary Anderson just yet."
