A lot of talk surrounding Peter Wright going into the PDC World Darts Championship emanates around the off the oche issues surrounding 'Snakebite' with his wife Jo being in and out of hospital after a gallbladder operation.
This saw Wright take the Players Championship Finals off and also go out early at the Grand Slam but Mark Webster believes speaking on the Love the Darts podcast that once he gets that first game out the way, he has nearly two weeks till he next plays so will be able to regroup.
"The news is positive now about Jo so that'll be a relief for Peter. Missing the Players Championship I think he might be a bit rusty on that first night but for me he wins that game and then he's got 11 days to put it right. I'm not worried about Peter, he's been a defending champion before. He dealt with it well. He'll just want to get that game done and see where he's at after Christmas," said Webster on the Love the Darts Podcast.

Michael Bridge also echoed the same sentiment but believes that Jo not being there does effect Wright in his preparation. "Peter and Jo are a partnership. We saw that with some of Peter's matches in Wolverhampton. Because of Jo's illness, he didn't get his hair done. It is on Peter's mind, we've seen the past couple of years when there are issues with Jo that he can't be focusing," said Bridge.
"I agree with Webby, he'll be ok in that first match."
