Lukas Wenig surprisingly easily advanced to the second round of the Baltic Sea Darts Open on Friday after a big 6-1 win over Ryan Meikle.
"That was solid. Not high quality, but an important win," he said in his stage interview afterwards. "To start the season straight away with a win on stage, that feels insanely good."
Wenig will take on Martin Schindler in the second round on Saturday. ''He can dress warmly,'' he joked. On a serious note: ''I am incredibly looking forward to this match. May the best one win. At least we have a German in the third round and that's great.''
