Plaisier reached his third Players Championship final of the season by dealing with compatriot Danny Noppert in the semifinals. Plaisier has not won a PDC ranking title before.
The Dutchman took a 3-1 lead in his match against Noppert via an 11-darter and a 15-darter, but then saw three legs in a row go to Noppert. However, Plaisier turned the 3-4 deficit back into a 6-4 lead and eventually won 7-4 thanks to a 14-darter in leg twelve.
Dirk van Duijvenbode had the chance to force a Dutch final, but failed in this mission against Rock. 'Aubergenius' showed resilience by getting to a 6-5 lead after falling behind 2-5, but then could not strike in the last two legs. The win went 7-6 to Rock.
It will also be his third Players Championship final of the year for Rock, although he already managed to win one in 2024. In addition, Rock also wrote a Euro Tour title to his name.
A total of 125,000 pounds in prize money is distributed at each Players Championship tournament. The winner of the event will receive a check for 15,000 pounds.
