Ian White took advantage of an out of sorts Joe Cullen to hand out the first whitewash of the World Matchplay this year.

He hit a 98 average during the ruthless whitewash including four 180’s as he punished Cullen on the Winter Gardens stage.
White endured a clinical start hitting an eleven darter including two 180’s in the first leg.
He broke again to extend his advantage to 3-0. Cullen’s woes continued as White took out 86 to move 4-0 clear. By the break Cullen missed a dart at the bull and was punished further as White hit a 13 darter to head 5-0 up at the interval.
The procession continued including a 121 checkout from ‘Diamond’ to lead 7-0. Cullen squandered further darts and as a result White went one away at 9-0 from there.
White ended the rout and ended Cullen’s poor time of it and he moves through a really tricky first hurdle.
