The Uber Arena in Berlin will host the ninth night of Premier League Darts this evening, with Michael van Gerwen set to face Gerwyn Price in the quarter-finals.

However, when speaking to Sportnieuws.nl, Van Gerwen appeared indifferent when asked about his upcoming match against Price.
"I don’t care at all who I have to play against. I didn’t even know until you told me," Van Gerwen admitted. "You have to be ready for anyone anyway."
Currently sitting third in the Premier League Darts standings, Van Gerwen recently defeated Price in a European Tour event. "I hope it gave him a little knock, but he’s mentally strong enough to handle that," he added.

Price’s Jake Paul Challenge Dismissed by Van Gerwen
Price has made headlines recently for challenging American influencer and boxer Jake Paul to a boxing match. Paul has expressed interest in the fight, but Van Gerwen is unimpressed.

"What a ridiculous thing," Van Gerwen said bluntly. "I don’t like it. I don’t see that fight happening at all. Why would Jake Paul care about someone like Gerwyn Price? No chance, not now, maybe not ever."
Prize Money Surge at the World Darts Championship
Van Gerwen, a three-time World Darts Champion, last won the prestigious title in 2019, securing £500,000 in prize money. However, the PDC recently announced a major shake-up: starting from the next World Championship, the winner’s prize will be doubled, alongside significant increases in other tournament prize pools.
"If you look at the sport’s popularity and the way inflation has risen over the past six years, this was bound to happen at some point," Van Gerwen commented. "It was already a lot of money, and now it’s doubled. But at some point, the money doesn’t matter anymore. I’m all about that title—that’s the best motivation.
