"Winning breeds confidence, so whatever tournament I'm in, I like to win" - Price out to defend World Series of Darts Finals title in Amsterdam

Gerwyn Price begins his title defense at the World Series of Darts Finals on Saturday night. 'The Iceman' will take on the winner of the duel between Simon Whitlock and Keegan Brown in his opening match.

Price starts as the defending champion in Amsterdam after winning 11-10 against Dirk van Duijvenbode in last year's final. "My game is in a good place. I'm feeling confident," Price told the PDC's official website. "My mind hasn't been fully focused on darts for the last 12 months or so, but now my [newly-built] house is coming to a finish, I'm coming back into form and I think there's a lot more to come."

"I'm looking forward to this weekend," continued the 38-year-old Welshman. "Winning breeds confidence, so whatever tournament I'm in, I like to win, and hopefully I can build on the confidence I've gained from the ProTours."

Price therefore does not care who his opponent will be. "I think Simon and Keegan are playing at pretty similar standards at the moment, but I will just concentrate on my own game, and if I play as well as I can, I'm confident I will come through."
