Welsh duo
Gerwyn Price and
Jonny Clayton have lived up to their favourite tag at the
World Cup of Darts in some style seeing off Denmark with ease 8-2 to reach the Quarter-Finals.
Price and Clayton will look for only a second World Cup of Darts title with Australia winning last year either side of their maiden win, but the run of Vladimir Andersen and Benjamin Drue Reus for Denmark was ended.
To begin the tie, they showed a sign of their brilliance with an 11-darter featuring back to back maximums from Price for 1-1.
It was a trio of 13 and 14-darters from there as they surged into a 5-1 lead and three away with ease from the finishing line.
Both gave Denmark a glimmer of hope as they couldn't go 6-1 up and Andersen reduced the deficit to three going into the interval.
But that was a mere hold and a consolation as Price hit a monster 121 checkout to go towards the brink at 7-2.
It was Price who sealed it with a 70 checkout to seal it. Statement made from Wales in an average just shy of 100.
