Newly crowned World Champion and World Number One,
Michael Smith cemented the best year of his career to date with a hat-trick as the PDC Awards were announced.
Smith not only sealed both accolades but also the Grand Slam of Darts breaking a long major title wait after finals at the UK Open and European Championship in 2022 as well as multiple ProTour and the Dutch Darts Championship.
Sealing the main PDC Player of the Year, he was also voted as such for the Fans and PDPA Players' Player of the Year.
Elsewhere,
Ross Smith got televised performance of the year for his stunning display at the European Championship.
This though saw the PDC draw criticism on social media for his omission from the Premier League line-up as one of two major champions to miss out.
While World Number Five,
Luke Humphries who dominated the European Tour with four titles sealed ProTour Player of the Year,
Josh Rock after a whirlwind 2022 was voted Newcomer of the Year and Young Player of the Year.
