Wright after deciding leg win over Rydz: "I felt rubbish up there"

Peter Wright won through against in-form Callan Rydz on Saturday night to set up a Quarter-Final with Michael Smith at the Players Championship Finals.
But despite that, Wright wasn't pleased with his performance and this also showed in his changes of darts.
He switched equipment multiple times and said that 'nothing was working' but that he will not play that way against Smith.
"I felt rubbish up there, I tried changing my darts and nothing was working, I’m a bit lucky to have won that,” said Wright post match.
“I can’t be as bad as that again tomorrow so everybody better watch out.”

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
