Peter Wright is successfully into the Quarter-Finals at the Players Championship Finals but survived a real scare against Callan Rydz who continues to impress.
Wright to start the tie headed into the lead at 6-4 up with Rydz missing four darts to level and the former restored a two leg advantage. But Rydz had his chance as he made it 6-6 as Wright made it 6/24 on the doubles.
Wright moved away though with a 12-darter in the form of a 91 checkout making it 9-7. Rydz broke back with a 161 checkout to keep himself involved and made it into a decider.
But despite Wright missing his first handful of darts, Rydz was too far back to potentially trouble and Wright got through.
While Mervyn King over on Stage Two saw off Karel Sedlacek with a commanding 10-5 victory with a 94.4 average, four 180's and a high checkout of 124 as he ended the run of 'Evil Charlie'.
