Wright aiming for more success after claiming latest title at Players Championship 19: ‘I’m going to keep working’

Peter Wright claimed victory on Tuesday seeing off Justin Pipe at Players Championship 19 but admitted that he isn’t back to his 2017 performance levels yet.

Wright said that he is working to get back there and that is proof of that.

He also praised his opponent who reached his first final in four years and said how good it is to see him in the final.

"I'm still not back to my 2017 level yet, nowhere near in fact, but I'm going to keep working to get back there and this is proof of that," said Wright.

"I changed darts from the weekend so that I could be more consistent and most of the day I played well to beat some fantastic players.

"It's also good to see Justin reach the final, he's been working very hard to get his game back. He let me off early on and I capitalised."
