The
World Cup of Darts gets underway on Thursday, June 15th. For the first time in a few years, Scotland will be able call on both
Peter Wright and
Gary Anderson, something Snakebite is very much looking forward to.
"Obviously, me and John (Henderson e.d.) went and won it and then unfortunately the year after, we didn't do as well," recalls Wright. "Last time Gary played we won. And they've got rid of those silly singles."
In an adapted format, the World Cup of Darts now has more nations competing, group stages and is exclusively pairs matchups. "We're playing proper pairs all the way through so there's going to be a few upsets," says an excited Wright. "The levels gone up higher and higher across all the countries so its going to be interesting."
"I think it's going to suit me because you don't get as nervous, going up there thinking 'I'm playing singles'," Snakebite concludes.
