Peter Wright averaged 103 over the course of the day as he claimed his first title of 2021 to conclude the PDC
Super Series.
A run that Wright has threatened all week, he saw off Gerwyn Price 8-3 and had a feeling going into the tournament that it was going to be a good day.
"Coming to the venue I said that I felt it was coming," said Wright. "Today I felt on a different level to everyone else.
"After the first round today, it was going to take someone special to stop me.
"It's really weird and it's a great feeling, and if I could put it in a jar and then take it out for the next tournament it would be fantastic - but tomorrow I could pick up the darts and throw absolutely terrible!"
But alongside that, he also spoke about
Michael Van Gerwen who didn’t play in Milton Keynes with a bold claim about his year.
“He won’t win a TV tournament this year. He shouldn’t be on holiday now, he should be here practicing. He’s a fantastic player and he obviously knows what to do but he won’t, there’s too many good players around.”
