Peter Wright claimed a 7-4 victory over Michael Smith in Liverpool to end the latter's winning run in the Premier League and to put himself level on points with his opponent and Nathan Aspinall in fifth.

Wright was pleased to claim the two points in the end; despite surviving a late comeback and he also weighed in on the best player in the world debate afterwards.
He also reflected on the UK Open and his run there: "It was a disappointment. I said I was going to win it, I was really disappointed with that but fair play to Michael (Van Gerwen), he played some really good darts on the way through and he got lucky in the end," said Wright to Phill Barrs.
"Today is about the two points and I'm happy. It could have been 7-2 if only he missed doubles, a quality player he is, he came back at me."
"I think it's the best Premier League by far because everyone is playing fantastic darts."
"I don't think Michael (van Gerwen) is but me and Gezzy (Price) I think are and then Nathan Aspinall and then Michael is 4th I'd say."
