Phil Taylor spoke at the turn of the year telling Peter Wright to stop switching darts with 'Snakebite' being a known tinkerer of equipment.
Wright responded recently in a Darts World piece which saw Stephen Feeney who is an accuracy super-coach and Lee Huxtable from Red Dragon analysing this statement.
"Everyone has told me for years that I should just stop messing about changing my darts and that its bad for my game but at the end of the day it’s me that throws them," he said to Darts World.
"I see so many players on tour using the wrong darts for their throw, that maybe it’s them that should look at changing more? But as long as I’m competing for trophies and getting an edge then I’ll keep on changing”.
What does 16 time world champion Phil Taylor know about darts anyways.
I agree with Peter that many players have been playing with wrong darts and not changing them is bad but his approach is extreme as well. I assume he would achieve better results if he would not change them so often. From my onw experience I know what is the impact of a new darts especially with different thickness and if you play with worse than previous ones.
