The Champions League of Darts line-up is getting close to being confirmed with Peter Wright the next player to secure his place when the tournament debuts at the Morningside Arena in Leicester.
Wright did so after his double win in the Players Championship series this week; in two dominant displays to back up previous victories in the non-ranking World Cup of Darts and German Darts Masters also recently.
Reigning champion Gary Anderson, World Champion Michael van Gerwen; as well as Rob Cross, Daryl Gurney and Michael Smith are also assured of their place in the competition.
Gerwyn Price is on the verge of confirming his spot and ahead of the World Matchplay is in a strong position to secure a Champions League debut. James Wade is next up currently; but Mensur Suljovic could take his place if he reaches the semi-finals at the Winter Gardens.
Ian White could qualify by reaching the final in Blackpool; while Simon Whitlock, Dave Chisnall; as well as Nathan Aspinall and Jonny Clayton must win the World Matchplay if they were to take their place in the line-up.
