Peter Wright will face Michael Smith in the semi-finals of the 2023
Nordic Darts Masters completing tonight's line-up after seeing off rival,
Michael van Gerwen in a deciding leg 10-9 win in Copenhagen.
Wright held his nerve to see off MVG - who averaged 98.2 in an improved display from yesterday with obvious jet lag as he saw off Andreas Harrysson but it is an early exit for the Green Machine this time with 'Snakebite' moving through.
Wright had the better early going to the match going 3-1 up but one missed dart at bull came back to bite Snakebite as Van Gerwen took out 88 to go 3-2 down.
MVG on return surged into the lead at 4-3 but struggling for consistency on the outer ring, Wright regained the upperhand at 6-4. Again it went back and forth as Wright was suddenly only 7-6 ahead but then went 8-6 up.
Van Gerwen broke back with a 62 checkout to make it 8-7 and took parity from there at 8-8. Wright went one away at 9-8 and Van Gerwen sent it all the way.
But despite missing some match darts, Wright had a superb scoring leg and sealed the deal on double five.
