Michael Smith has made it 12 games unbeaten including his triumph at the PDC World Darts Championship by reaching the semi-finals of the Nordic Darts Masters in Copenhagen.
Smith saw off Luke Humphries and survived a spirited comeback in the process in a 10-7 win with eight 180's en route as he looks to add a third title in a row and a second World Series after winning in Bahrain last week. Michael van Gerwen or Peter Wright await.
Humphries started the brighter with a 105 checkout but Smith led at the break 3-2. 'Cool Hand Luke' continued to add pressure with a 100 checkout to make it 4-4.
But Smith began to ease ahead opening up a 6-4 lead despite averaging just 91. He hit an 11-darter for 7-4 after back-to-back 180's but Humphries returned to close to gap to 8-6 as he aimed to pressure the World Number One.
But a 12-darter sent Smith one away and he sealed it on double 10 for 10-7 and moves through.
