Wright set to face Van Gerwen in opening Week Nine Premier League Darts semi-final

Peter Wright is through to the opening semi-final of Week Nine at 2022 Premier League Darts in Leeds and will face off against Michael van Gerwen shortly.
Wright averaged 104 with three 180's and 67% on the doubles in a 6-2 rout against Michael Smith in a bumper clash.
This after Gary Anderson caught COVID-19 and withdrew from Leeds which meant Van Gerwen received a direct bye through to the semi-finals as he aims for a weekly win once more.
Smith kicked off the opening leg with back-to-back 180's and finished on double 20 for an 11-darter. Wright though went four legs on the spin following that to average 110 and go 4-1 up.
Wright hit a 108 checkout to go within a leg of victory at 5-1 with 71% on the doubles and Smith stopped the rot with a 95 checkout but ultimately Wright sealed the win in the end.
