Peter Wright has sealed only his second win of this year's
Premier League Darts after seeing off Michael Smith 6-1 on Night 10 of action in Birmingham on Thursday evening.
Wright reeled off six legs on the spin to seal the victory but it won't now get any easier with the man of the moment,
Gerwyn Price who sealed back-to-back European Tour titles and is looking for 3/4 Premier League wins in a row up next.
Smith sealed his sole leg to begin the tie in a good start in the form of a 96 checkout but missed doubles thwarted him. He missed the bull for a 127 and Wright went 2-1 up.
He hit his first 180 but missed a dart at double 20 and Wright returned for 3-1 before not leaving it up to chance next time out. He hit a superb 125 checkout using two bulls to go 4-1 up.
He nearly made it two showstoppers in a row with a 161 missed on the bull before returning to go 5-1 up and sealed the deal from there.
While for Price, despite the recent plaudits, it wasn't smooth sailing compared to Wright as he sealed a 6-5 win over Dimitri van den Bergh.
He held his nerve hitting double 12 for a 13-darter in the decider hitting a 102.2 average and 55% on the doubles in victory.
This after he initially went 3-0 and then was taken to parity before going 5-4 up and being forced all the way but he now has 'Snakebite' in his sights.
