A lot of
Peter Wright's narrative towards the back end of the 2022 season surrounded his wife Jo and her having to be in and out of hospital leading to 'Snakebite's priorities changing.
Going into 2023, he has won the Nordic Darts Masters to begin the year and gave an update on Jo's progress with more operations to come.
"Jo's getting better but she's got to go back in, the thing she had put in during Wolverhampton has to be removed. Then at the beginning of March, she's got to have another back operation but myself I'm alright, I've just got to look out for Jo again," said Wright to
Online Darts.
It is also a big year with Wright defending a lot of ranking money but the belief is there that he can do it again if everything off the oche is right despite admitting finishing inside the top 10 would now be a bonus.
"I think I'm defending about 800 grand so if I can stay in the top ten in the world that would be a bonus. It's only this year as I won the World Matchplay when I said I'd win that and the World Championship at the same time, plus I won the Players Championship which was a bonus. But if I put my mind to it and everything's ok at home, why can't I do it again."
