For
Peter Wright, the last World Championship was a major disappointment. The 52-year-old Scot went down against Kim Huybrechts in the third round and he is under no illusion on the difficulty of his year.
"It was a difficult one, obviously my operation and only won two tournaments, got to the final of another one so I've got nothing to spend for two years," said Wright.
Being asked about his rivals including question marks on Gerwyn Price, he also gave a message to Michael Smith on what to expect as World Champion.
"No there's no question marks over Gezzy (Price), it's just up to whether he wants to turn up that day. Bit like myself, MVG we know he's playing really well, back to his old form and then we've got Michael Smith, full of confidence, reigning World Champion and World Number One. He'll see what that target is like on your back when you walk into every room and every player will perform even better than they've ever done. They'll be taking out silly shots like 190."
