Zonneveld told about Tour Card fate by Van Barneveld: "He came to me to say that we had both made it"

Niels Zonneveld will be in action at today's PDC Super Series after securing an immediate return to the PDC ProTour at Q-School.

"It is a relief. I was previously seen as one of the favourites for a Tour Card and that of course brings a little more pressure. I did not throw very high averages and did not play super games, but achieved a very constant level and also my doubles went very well ", said Zonneveld to Darts Actueel.

The 22-year-old Dutchman eventually claimed a Tour Card via the Order of Merit, in which he came second behind the German, Martin Schindler.

"I knew I needed a few more points on the final day. Before my match in the last eight against Raymond van Barneveld, he came to me to say that we had both made it. It was of course good to be able to beat Raymond, unfortunately afterwards I lost the final against Boris Koltsov, but the most important thing was of course that Tour Card.

Support from Kim Huybrechts

Zonneveld travels the Tour together with Kim Huybrechts.

"I have a lot of support for Kim, he even stayed a few days longer in England after the Players Championship Finals last year to encourage me at the qualifying tournament for the World Championship. We click very well, he also has a lot of experience and often gives me useful tips."
