Michael van Gerwen hit a very special nine-dart finish on Sunday evening at the European Darts Open in Leverkusen. ‘Mighty Mike’ produced his perfect leg in the semi-finals against Mensur Suljovic.
The world number one left 147 after six darts and completed his perfect leg with treble 19, bullseye and double 20. Van Gerwen is the first player to use the bullseye for a nine-dart finish without the double-in double-out format at the World Grand Prix.
It’s Van Gerwen’s third nine-darter of the year as he hit two earlier this year on the PDC Pro Tour.
