The WDF has announced the prize pool for the WDF World Championship. It also revealed more about how to follow the tournament at Lakeside.
The total prize pool for the WDF World Championship includes 257,000 pounds, down from 300,000 pounds in 2022. The men's winner will haul in a £50,000 check, while the runner-up will go home with £20,000.
The winner of the women's tournament will receive 25,000 pounds in prize money, while the losing finalist will receive 10,000 pounds. There is £5,000 waiting for the winner of the boys' tournament, while the winner in the girls' will receive £2,000.
In addition, it became clear that the WDF failed to secure a major broadcast partner for Lakeside. Therefore the WDF has decided to broadcast the event from December 2 through December 10 via YouTube. However, the WDF is still in talks with parties to get the last three tournament days on television.

WDF should have stuck to what they were, a federation that linked all darting bodies worldwide rather than becoming a tournament organiser.
They probably thought that with the collapse of the BDO they could fill that role and rival the PDC, problem there is that they have all the management skills of the BDO and not the PDC.

I never understand how there is such a discrepancy in prize money. It should be more equal, especially between the boys and girls. The boys winner earns more than double what the girls win. How will that entice girls to take up the sport.
The prize money is pretty paultry, but at least the woman's share looks better than what Trina ever used to win, her prize money was a disgrace.
Do they still pay out for the highest check out ?

Because, generally, Even in the WDF the standard of the men is clearly better than the women( The top 4 ladies aside) and the men play longer matches. The alternative "equality" route is NOT to have a womens tournament at all and lump them all in as one tournament!!!( Go ask the ladies if thats what they want?!)

I always think when BBC dropped the BDO darts that fast tracked it to its death. Lots of my friends that were casual fans of the Lakeside loved it loved watching and attending. But when it disappeared to obscure channels they lost interest and wondered if the World Championships even took place.
I am not sure if I will attend, last year's was so different and the atmosphere was flat, often half empty venue. Not sure about watching it on YouTube but if it's all we have, will have to suffice
.it's a pity it can't be on SportyStuff Channel 427 on SKY, The Modus Super Series is excellent and presented fantastically

Absolutely, Richieburnetrocks. I always loved the atmosphere (Lakeside), which was quite a journey from my Herefordshire Town... when I could afford it. The Modus Super Series has some excellent talent; I like Chris Mason as a commentator too.
