Plaisier takes first major title at Winmau World Masters: "This is insane, I really have no words for it"

Wesley Plaisier has won the WDF Winmau World Masters. The 32-year-old Dutchman defeated Barry Copeland 7-2 in the final.

This makes Plaisier the first Dutchman since Michael van Gerwen in 2006 to win the Winmau World Masters. "This is insane, I really have no words for it. I also enjoy playing on a big stage more and more," Plaisier said to Darts Actueel.

Q-School

"This is the greatest title of my life," Plaisier continued. "I really never would've dreamt of this. I had come here with no expectations and then you win the tournament, amazing."

Plaisier is heading to Q-School early next year. "This gives a lot of confidence, but there are about 70 players at Q-School who are capable of winning a Tour Card, so it remains to be seen if it will work out."
