Injured Tony O'Shea forced into last minute withdrawal at World Seniors Darts Championship

Tony O'Shea will not be competing in the 2024 World Seniors Darts Championship on Friday afternoon. The English crowd favourite has had to withdraw at the last minute due to a hand injury.

The 62-year-old O'Shea was scheduled to face Andy Hamilton in the first round Friday afternoon. ''Unfortunately Tony O'Shea has had to withdraw from the 2024 World Seniors Darts Championship on medical advice due to an injury on his throwing hand,'' the organization reported. ''As a result, Andy Hamilton will now receive a bye to the 2nd round.''

So unfortunately for fans in attendance, DJ Ötzi's popular "Hey Baby" will not be blaring through the Circus Tavern. They will, however, get to see Martin Adams, Deta Hedman, Robert Thornton, Martyn Turner, Keith Deller and Richie Burnett during the afternoon session.
