"I've always used any negative press to my advantage": Neil Duff vows to silence critics after World Seniors opener

After beating Richard Eirig-Rowlands in his opening match of the World Seniors Championship, Neil Duff hopes to use the negative press as a tool in his arsenal as he attempts to win his maiden World Senior crown.

Despite not playing his best after an early start due to travel to the venue, Duff was delighted to get over the line, holding his nerve to win 3-2 in a deciding-set.

Speaking to Tungsten Tales, he said: "That wasn't me up there. Bit of tiredness from travel this morning. But champions find a way to win."

While able to re-group today before his last-16 match against Paul Hogan, Duff has vowed to silence the critics and go all the way in the event.

He said: "I'm always hungry [to win] for the people that tell me that I can't do it, that I won't do it, that I'll never do it again.

"I've always used any negative press and negative energy to my advantage."

With appearances on the Modus Super Series coming up on the calendar, Duff said would be delighted to have the World Senior Champion title on his back going into future campaigns.
